Sand Point Library
The Sand Point Elementary School Library is open and supporting student learning on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays this year. Books will be checked out and returned every Wednesday – Please help your student remember to return their books on time. You can return any library book you find at home (from any Seattle Public School library) no matter how long you’ve had it, and we will get it to the right place!
In the library K-3rd grade students will…
- Read and engage with the WA State Children’s Choice Picture Book Award nominated books and have a chance to vote on their favorite one.
- Learn to select “just-right” books for fun and learning.
- Be introduced to important library and research skills to help them succeed in today’s digital age.
In the library 4th-5th grade students will…
- Be encouraged to discover and read a variety of fiction and nonfiction genres.
- Practice important library and research skills to help them succeed in today’s digital age.
- Have the opportunity to participate in the district-wide Global Reading Challenge in partnership with Seattle Public Library.
Pre-K students are visited by Ms. Matisse for story time weekly and will begin practicing in-school book check-out midway through the school year.
The library is open to all students who desire a calm indoor space to spend their lunch recess on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
