Physical Education at Sand Point Elementary is about having fun, being active, and learning how to keep our bodies healthy through life-long physical activity. Our program is based on the Seattle School District adopted Five for Life Curriculum and includes units on nutrition, the five components of fitness, heart health, goal setting, in addition to juggling, soccer, basketball, and bowling to name a few. Our goal is for students to gain an appreciation and understanding of the importance of staying active as a part of a healthy lifestyle.
Students in the 4-5th grades have the opportunity to learn how to play string, woodwind, and brass instruments. Enrollment for instrumental music is in September only.
Instrumental music lessons are held once a week for 30 minutes during the school day. Participating students are pulled out of the regular classroom during lesson time.
